Planet Sport Group is proud and honoured to have won Growth Company of the Year at this year's Leeds Digital Festival Awards. The award was awarded in recognition of the company's sustained recent growth.
The company's performance has come against a backdrop of considerable challenges being faced the publishing industry as a whole, with many of Planet Sport's competitors struggling to find growth over the last 18 months. This achievement underscores the dynamic, innovative and sustainable approach that Planet Sport has taken.
The Leeds Digital Festival Awards celebrate and recognise the incredible tech businesses and individuals that make Leeds their home. While the city's tech industry is already well established, each year the awards demonstrate the ever-expanding talent and innovative work being carried out across the city region.
Companies across the city are pushing the boundaries of what is possible in digital technology, creating a thriving ecosystem that encourages growth and collaboration and Planet Sport is delighted to play a part in that network.
The awards ostensibly marks the wrapping up of the fortnight-long Leeds Digital Festival. Having just completed its eighth year, the festival is an open, collaborative celebration of digital culture in all its forms.
Barrie Jarrett, CEO of Planet Sport, said, "Leeds has a wonderfully unique tech environment where even the most fierce competitors celebrate each other's successes. Planet Sport's sponsorship of Leeds Digital is a reflection of our commitment and desire to support the tech ecosystem in the region."

The business was also proud to continue sponsoring Digital Sport North during the festival, helping them deliver a fantastic event that discussed lessons learned from 2024's incredible summer of sport.
Our Head of Publishing, Mark Holmes, sat on the panel and discussed what tactics we employed to gain cut-through over the course of an incredibly competitive 2024 so far. Mark was joined by Spencer Hudson, Head of Product at Sky Sports, and Steve Feekins, Content at FIFA with BBC presenter Tanya Arnold asking the questions.
